Profile:

Graduating from UNSW in the mid-1970's, Michael began has career as a Graduate Accountant with big 4 firm, PWC in Sydney. Michael excelled in his role, working here for 2 years before returning to the countryside to work for Dubbo based Accountant, Frank Darcy. After only being here for a further 3 years, Michael purchased the practice and established Darcy Kennedy in 1984. Here, Michael's leadership, experience and business excellence shone, as he grew the firm to include 7 partners and employ over 50 staff. A very impressive feat to be achieved in a rural area that included a very diverse set of clients.

Michael was subsequently a Regional Managing Principal at WHK in Central West NSW, a Partner at Macquarie Partners in Sydney and most recently retired as a Partner at Deloitte Private in Norwest over twelve months ago. Michael has also previously held Non Executive Director positions with Advance Energy and Catholic Healthcare and is presently a Trustee with Catholic Healthcare. In addition Michael has previously made contributions to Charles Sturt University in the form of being on the Dubbo campus advisory committee as well as Board Member of the CSU Foundation.

Michael joins Morse Group in the role of Strategic Business Advisor and has a particular interest in regional and rural issues, small business growth strategies, real estate development and financial strategy for self-managed superannuation funds. Michael's passion for the job in these particular areas (among others) is not only a great asset to Morse Group, but more importantly to the Central West, Sydney metropolitan and wider community.

Michael is a Sydney Swans supporter and attends most home games, is an avid cricket fan as well as being a keen gardener.

Michael is based out of the Bathurst office, but also services Blayney, Oberon & Orange
